Academic Biography 

This is Fayaz Gul Mazloum Yar, Assistant Professor at Nangarhar University & PhD scholar in Geography and Rural Planning at the University of Guilan, Iran. With over a decade of experience in academia, I specialize in geopolitics, Human Geography, rural development, and environmental sustainability. My research focuses on empowering rural households in Afghanistan and integrating innovative policy solutions for sustainable development. I hold a Master’s degree in Geopolitics from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad and have authored numerous research articles and translated several books. My expertise spans curriculum development, academic writing, and trans disciplinary research, with a strong commitment to advancing education and policy reforms. 

Research Statement 

My research explores the intersection of geopolitics, Human Geography, rural development, and sustainability, with a particular focus on Afghanistan. I analyze the socio-economic challenges of rural communities, aiming to develop empowerment-based strategies that foster self-sufficiency and resilience. My work integrates spatial analysis, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, and policy frameworks to identify innovative solutions for sustainable rural development. Through collaborations with national and international scholars, I seek to bridge the gap between academic research and practical policy implementation, ensuring that rural communities have access to the resources and opportunities necessary for growth. 

Teaching Beliefs and Practices 

As an educator, I believe in a student-centered, research-driven, and interdisciplinary approach to teaching. I emphasize critical thinking, active learning, and real-world applications in my courses on geopolitics, political geography, and rural planning. My teaching philosophy is rooted in problem-solving and experiential learning, encouraging students to engage with contemporary challenges through case studies, policy analysis, and GIS-based research projects. I am committed to mentoring students and fostering a culture of inquiry, equipping them with the analytical and technical skills needed for academic and professional success.
